Terms and Conditions

CONTRACT WITH ECO ITALIA LLC

All persons by sending the deposit, if required, or final payment, agree to be bound by the conditions that follow. The person or persons sending the deposit are hereafter referred to as the client. All bookings are made with Eco Italia LLC, which sells all tours described in this web site or customized tours developed on behalf of the client. No person has any authority on the company’s behalf to vary these booking conditions. The services to be provided are as outlined in the included items of the tours. Tours are sold as a package and might not be itemized.

RESERVATIONS & PAYMENTS

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a per person deposit in the amount of 30 % of the tour cost, unless otherwise specified. Customized tours may require additional deposits as suppliers warrant and you will be so advised at time of booking. Full payment is due 60 days prior to departure, unless otherwise specified. Payment in full is required at time of booking for reservations made less than 60 days prior tour departure. Deposit is paid by credit card (we accept only Visa, MasterCard and American Express). Balance is paid by cashier or personal check, unless otherwise specified.

All rates published on our site are quoted in U.S. dollars with exchange rate applied on January 6, 2017. Customized tours are quoted with the exchange shown in the Terms of Payment of the tour itinerary.

 

GROUP SIZES

Maximum group size might vary depending of the type of the Tour. Small Group Tours might have from 6 to 25 participants, Regular Group tours might have up to 30-40 people. Unless indicated “Small Group” or “Private”, our Tours shall be understood to be Regular Group.

CHANGES

Although we will put all our effort into mailing changes to the original booking when requested, we cannot guarantee to success. Changes might require an additional fee, which will be disclosed at the time of the requested change.

Eco Italia reserves the right to change any of the facilities, services or prices published on the web site before a booking is made. If such a change is made, it will be disclosed to clients at the time of booking.

 

CANCELLATIONS

Any cancellation must be made in writing to Eco Italia by email with delivery receipt or by mail with delivery confirmation or by fax. The date on which the company or its agents receive the email/letter/fax will determine the cancellation charge applicable. Deposits are not refundable. Thereafter the following penalties will apply:

Eco Italia reserves the right to amend the above terms where suppliers dictate otherwise. No changes will be made to the above terms after booking.

If a Small Group Tour Excursion is cancelled because the minimum number of participants is not reached, Eco Italia will re-quote the price as a private tour or provide the client/s with other optional tours. Eco Italia will cancel a tour in the case of force majeure, or the client’s failure to pay the final balance.

 

DOCUMENTS

Final travel documents will be sent prior to departure provided full payment has been received.

 

ACCOMMODATIONS

In Italy, single rooms are generally smaller than double occupancy rooms and hotel standards, facilities and services provided may vary from those in the United States. Requests for smoking/non-smoking rooms must be made at time of booking. Special room requests such as wheelchair accessible, adjacent, connecting or lower-floor rooms must be made at time of booking. They cannot be guaranteed and are based on availability at time of check-in. Substitute hotels may be used at certain times and will be of similar standard wherever possible. Unless otherwise specified, when breakfast is included in our tour package, it can be either Continental or Buffet depending on the hotel policy.

Hotel Taxes are always included in our price. City taxes, due by tourists in many Italian cities, are not included in our prices. These are collected by the hotels on behalf of local government and must be paid locally.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Private Transfer
Transportation, unless otherwise noted, is by deluxe minibus with A/C with professionally licensed driver.
Rental Cars
Upon clients request we always offer the following options: automatic shift, Collision Damage Waiver, Theft Protection, fire insurance, Public Liability Insurance, Insurance for personal injuries/damages to drivers and passengers.
When you return your rental car later than expected, you may be charged for additional day(s), which must be paid directly to the rental company. All rental cars must be returned with a full tank of gas to avoid additional charges.
Train
If rail tickets or passes are included in your package seat reservations will be included whenever this is an available option. Our reservation are typically on 2nd class, unless otherwise specified. Upon request we can provide optional upgrade to 1st class whenever available.
Air travel
Our tour prices do not include airfare unless otherwise stated. We will be happy to assist you with your reservations.

 

REFUNDS/CLAIMS

Once the tour has commenced, no refund will be made for any unused portion of the tour whether for missed days, accommodations, meals or any other service not utilized by tour participant. No refunds will be made in the event of traveler’s “no show” or trip interruption. Tour termination for whatever reason does not automatically or necessarily guarantee any refund. Trip insurance is strongly recommended and available through Eco Italia. Claims must be made in writing and will not be accepted after 30 days of the tour completion.

 

RESPONSIBILITY

Eco Italia contracts through independent suppliers and therefore acts only as an agent for the traveler regarding all services, accommodations and transportation. Eco Italia cannot be held liable for any changes or service defaults of suppliers. Eco Italia cannot be held liable for any loss, damage, injury or expense to property or person for any reason. Eco Italia is not liable for acts of God, acts of governments or other authorities, civil disturbances, terrorist acts, strikes, thefts, danger pertaining to sea, land, or air travel, and all other acts beyond its control. Eco Italia is not responsible for any delays, or non-operation of any rail, air, or other means of transportation due to reasons beyond its control.

 

NOT INCLUDED IN TOUR COST

Airfare; meals other than those stated in the itinerary; tips to guides; costs of obtaining a passport; items of purely personal nature such a beverages, telephone calls, laundry, and faxes; hotel porterage; city taxes and additional driver costs on rental cars and excess mileage carried out at the unanimous request of tour participants. ). Anything not specifically mentioned as included is at travelers’ own expense.
